302HQ-FM®

UNS #S30431

302HQ-FM® stainless is a machinable modification of austenitic 302HQ that can be cold headed into a variety of parts and then easily machined in secondary operations such as drilling, slotting, and tapping. Has been run in bar form or automatic screw machines to produce parts where thread rolling or cold form tapping operations are critical. It is an austenitic stainless steel and becomes only faintly magnetic after severe cold working. With machinability approaching 303 stainless, it can be considered as a substitute for 303 and 303Se, if specifications permit.
