308L/309L

308L/309L are austenitic chromium-nickel alloys with low carbon content that are a modification of 304 stainless that have been used for welding applications. The lower carbon content decreases the possibility of intergranular carbide precipitation and provides good resistance to intergranular corrosion without the use of stabilizers such as columbium or titanium.
