CTX-3

UNS #N19907

CTX-3 is a low-expansion, high-strength, precipitation-hardenable superalloy with high hot hardness, good thermal fatigue resistance, and a low coefficient of thermal expansion over a broad temperature range. It offers a significant improvement in notched stress rupture strength over CTX-1 and is not affected by stress orientation. It is weldable, brazable, and can be chromium plated, but requires a protective coating if exposed to atmospheric conditions above 1000°F (538°C). This material could be considered for use in applications requiring resistance to thermal fatigue in noncorrosive environments.
