305

UNS #S30500

305 is a Chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with the highest nickel content of the 18-chromium 8-nickel family and the lowest rate of strain hardening of these steels. Used extensively for cold heading, severe deep drawing, and spinning operations, the higher nickel content lowers the tendency to work-harden, so that a greater amount of deformation is possible before process annealing is necessary. It maintains low magnetic permeability after cold working.
