CTS® TMT Alloy

Composition (Nominal)
0.03 C, 1.00 Mn, 0.040 P, 0.030 S, 1.00 Si, 12.00/14.00 Cr, 2.00/3.00 Cu, 1.00/3.00 Mo, Bal. Fe

A hardenable martensitic stainless steel that combines improved corrosion resistance over Type 410 stainless with hardness up to 53 HRC and improved formability over 17Cr-4Ni. Can be hot worked, cold worked, machined and heat treated using similar equipment and methods used for Type 410 stainless steel.

This proprietary alloy is a member of the CTS™ family of alloys, offering superior edge retention and surface finish, an ability to be machined to a fine edge, and consistent heat-treatability from lot to lot. Consider CTS alloys for many blade applications, including commercial food processing, paper processing, textile, packaging, recycling/refuse, kitchen knives, hand tools, scissors/shears, shaving razors, sport/hunting knives, ice skates, military/defense, law enforcement, salon blades and various surgical/medical applications.
