304/304L Project 70®+

UNS #S30403

304/304L Project 70®+ stainless is an improved-machining version of 304/304L and the first chrome-nickel, free-machining stainless steel ever produced. It combines the superior machinability of Project 70®+ stainless with improved straightness and roundness at half-standard dimensional tolerances. This drawn bar has been used successfully in a variety of machining operations including CNC Swiss-style screw machines. It enables machining speed improvements of 50% or more over AISI Type 304 and offers reduced tool wear and increased machine speeds and feeds to help improve productivity and reduce part costs. A good general purpose product for simple and complex parts at a wide range of machining speeds.
